Blank Canvas, Boundless Creativity!

The Primary Wing of S.D. Jain Modern School hosted the first round of The Blank Canvas Inter-School Talent Triumph on 8th July 2026 during school hours. Grade III students explored “The Adventure”, creatively depicting Theo and Lucy’s imaginative journeys by pasting the characters on The Blank Canvas and illustrating exciting destinations. Grade IV students showcased entrepreneurial skills through “The Designers”, creating innovative footwear or chocolate brands with attractive packaging featuring Theo and Lucy as brand ambassadors. The competition fostered imagination, creativity, design thinking and problem-solving.

School Management, Principal Mr. Chetan Dalwala and Headmistress Ms. Neelima Pal applauded the participants’ originality. Outstanding entries qualified for the prestigious Grand Finale alongside students from other schools.

Young Innovators Creating a Sustainable Tomorrow –
Annual Science & Art Exhibition 2026

S. D. Jain Modern School proudly organised its Annual Science & Art Exhibition 2026 on 1st July 2026 for students of Grades I to VI. Dedicated to the loving memory of the school’s Founder Chairman, Late Shri Devraj Ji Jain, the exhibition celebrated curiosity, creativity and compassion through the remarkable work of young learners. Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest, Shri Anurag Dubey, IRS, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Surat, appreciated the students’ innovative ideas and confident presentations. Aligned with the theme “Building a Better Tomorrow,” the exhibits focused on Sustainability, Food Security and Gender Equality, inspiring children to think critically, innovate responsibly and contribute meaningfully towards a better future. The vibrant displays reflected scientific temperament, artistic excellence and social awareness.

The School Management, Principal Mr. Chetan Dalwala, and the Heads of all the wings, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teachers, enthusiastic students and supportive parents for making the exhibition a grand success.

Mindful Parenting: Nurturing Hearts, Shaping Futures

“Nature has trusted you; it is a privilege to be a parent.” With this inspiring thought, S.D. Jain Modern School organised a Mindful Parenting Workshop on 4th July 2026 for Grade IV parents. The session was thoughtfully conducted by Ms. Neelima Pal, Headmistress, Primary Wing, who emphasised mindful parenting practices aligned with NEP 2020. Parents gained valuable insights into understanding children’s emotional and learning needs, fostering discipline with dignity, balancing academics, co-curricular activities and screen time and building meaningful home-school partnerships. The interactive session also addressed parents’ queries, making it enriching and highly informative. Reaffirming the school’s commitment to holistic education, the workshop strengthened the vital triangle of parent, teacher and child, essential for nurturing confident, compassionate and responsible learners.

Cyber Safe Kids: Building Responsible Digital Citizens

In compliance with CBSE Circular No. Acad-39/2026 and the nationwide initiative of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4 C), S.D. Jain Modern School Primary Wing conducted a Cybercrime Awareness Program for students of Std. I to IV from 19th to 23rd June 2026.

Students took a solemn Cyber Safety Pledge, affirming responsible internet usage, safeguarding personal information and reporting suspicious online activities to parents and teachers. To reinforce cyber hygiene and safe digital practices, a Cybercrime Awareness Board was installed in the Primary Wing corridor.

Class IV students enthusiastically participated in a Poster Making Activity on Cybercrime Awareness, creatively depicting messages on phishing scams, digital frauds, online safety and responsible internet use.

The initiative successfully nurtured cyber awareness among young learners and empowered them to become alert, responsible, and informed digital citizens. The programme was conducted under the guidance of School Management, Principal Chetan Dalwala and Headmistress Ms. Neelima Pal, whose vision and support continue to foster a safe and aware learning environment.

Colours of Awareness: From Green Earth to a Secure Digital Future, Young Minds Shaping a Better Tomorrow

S.D. Jain Modern School Primary Wing proudly organized the Skill-Based Event “Poster Making & Slogan Writing” on 23rd June 2026. The event served as a vibrant celebration of creativity, awareness and responsible citizenship. Through colours, imagination and thoughtful expression, students of Std. I to IV transformed simple sheets into powerful messages advocating environmental conservation and cyber safety. The activity beautifully reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing socially conscious, creative and informed young learners who are prepared to contribute positively to the world around them.

Students of Std. I to III showcased their creativity on the theme “Save Environment,” while Std. IV students expressed their awareness through the theme “Cybercrime Awareness.”

Using crayons, colours, and vivid imagination, the young learners created eye-catching posters and meaningful slogans promoting environmental responsibility and safe digital practices. The activity provided an engaging platform for artistic expression and thoughtful learning.

Entries were judged on originality, relevance, creativity, neatness, presentation and message effectiveness.

Yoga for Wellness, Gratitude for Fathers: A Special Assembly Celebration

S.D. Jain Modern School Primary Wing celebrated a Special Assembly on 18th June 2026 for Grades 1 & 2 and on 19th June 2026 for Grades 3 & 4, highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day and fostering values of health, mindfulness, and gratitude.

The assemblies commenced with the Thought of the Day and Word of the Day along with its meaning.

Students of Grades 1 and 2 shared the benefits of yoga and delivered an informative speech on Yoga Day. The assembly was further enriched by a graceful Mandala Yoga presentation under the guidance of the Yoga Instructor.

Students of Grade 3 presented a meaningful skit, an inspiring speech on Yoga Day, a vibrant dance performance, a discussion on the benefits of yoga, and demonstrations of seven yoga asanas.

Students of Grade 4 showcased various yoga forms, including Clap Yoga, Mandala Yoga, Sitting Yoga, and Standing Yoga, reflecting the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life.

Adding warmth to the occasion, students of Grades 1 to 4 created beautiful Father’s Day cards, expressing their love, respect, and gratitude towards their fathers.

Turning Pages, Discovering Possibilities: An Educational Visit to Kavi Veer Narmad Central Library

S.D. Jain Modern School Primary Wing organized an educational visit for Grade 3 and 4 students to the Kavi Veer Narmad Central Library on Friday and Saturday, 12th and 13th June 2026, during school hours.

The visit aimed to foster a love for reading, broaden academic horizons, and provide hands-on learning beyond the classroom. Teachers and library in-charges familiarized students with the library arrangement, book-searching process, membership procedure, and various sections. A special highlight was the Braille books section, where children learned how visually impaired readers access books through touch. The students explored the rich collection of books with great enthusiasm and curiosity, making the experience both informative and enjoyable.

Young Mind, Global Success : Pragnika wins Common Wealth Silver

S.D. Jain Modern School Primary Wing proudly applauds the Stellar achievement of Vaka Lakshmi Pragnika, who won the Silver Medal in the Commonwealth Youth Blitz Chess Championship 2026 in the Under-8 Girls category held at Waskaduwa-Kaluthara, Sri Lanka.

Adding to her success, she also secured 4th position in the Rapid Championship and 8th position in the Classical Championship. She also improved her ELO ratings in all three formats—Classical, Rapid and Blitz.

The prestigious championship witnessed participation of 502 players representing 15 countries, including 62 Grandmasters and Women Grandmasters, while 43 players competed in the Under-8 Girls category.

Pragnika’s outstanding performance on the international stage has brought immense pride to S.D. Jain family and inspired young fellow chess players.

Chill, Thrill and Summer Spill Party – A Joyful Celebration On the Eve of Vacation

The campus of S.D. Jain Modern School came alive with joy and excitement as students of Std. 1 to 4 enthusiastically celebrated the “Chill, Thrill and Summer Spill Party” before the commencement of their summer vacation. The event, held within the school premises from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, provided a refreshing break from routine academics and created a vibrant, festive atmosphere. Students came dressed in colourful casual attire spreading cheer and excitement. They lovingly created gratitude cards for their mothers expressing heartfelt appreciation. The highlight of the day was the refreshing summer sip and potluck lunch which encouraged sharing and strengthened bonding among friends. The campus echoed with laughter as students danced, sang songs and played games with great enthusiasm.

Echoes of Pride: Celebrating Gujarat Foundation Day and Labour Day

Resonating with the rhythm of tradition and unity, S. D. Jain Modern School, Primary Wing, marked Gujarat Foundation Day and Labour Day through a vibrant and meaningful celebration. The event began with a serene prayer and shlok, followed by a Gujarati thought of the day and a new word enriching linguistic awareness. A brief news and speech highlighted the significance of Gujarat’s formation.

Students portrayed eminent leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dadabhai Naoroji and Narendra Modi with confidence and pride. Engaging role plays on Gujarat’s fruits and flowers and traditional dishes added colour and creativity. The Rangla–Rangli dance beautifully reflected the rich cultural essence of Gujarat.

The highlight of the day was the energetic Garba performance that soon transformed into a joyful collective celebration, spreading enthusiasm and unity. The programme concluded on a note of cultural pride, gratitude and togetherness—truly capturing the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.”

Checkmate to Excellence: Young Minds Shine at State Chess Championship

S.D. Jain Modern School, Primary Wing, continues its proud legacy of excellence as its young champions brought laurels at the Gujarat State U-7 Chess Championship (Selection for National Chess Championship), held on 28th and 29th April, 2026 at Sports Club, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, under the aegis of the Gujarat State Chess Association.

Ivaan Nathani of Grade I – F secured an impressive 2nd position at the State level and earned selection for the National tournament by the Gujarat Government. Aarohi Jain of Grade I – F achieved a commendable 9th rank in the competition.

Tiny Talent, Tremendous Triumph

S.D. Jain Modern School, Primary Wing, proudly celebrates an extraordinary accomplishment by its young prodigy, Samvida Jain of Grade-1. She has earned a prestigious India Book of Records certificate for being the fastest kid to recite the names of all 24 Jain Tirthankaras.

Born on March 25, 2020, Samvida achieved this remarkable feat at just 5 years, 11 months and 16 days, flawlessly reciting all names in an astonishing 30 seconds. Her achievement was officially confirmed on March 10, 2026.

The School Management, Principal Chetan Dalwala and Headmistress Neelima Pal lauded her dedication and brilliance, inspiring all students to pursue excellence with passion and confidence.

Celebrating Words, Wisdom and Our Wonderful Earth

A special assembly was conducted on 23 April 2026 at S.D. Jain Modern School, Primary Wing to celebrate World Book Day, English Language Day and World Earth Day in the AC Hall. The programme began with a warm welcome to the Headmistress followed by a serene prayer and shlok, creating a positive ambience. Students presented the thought of the day, word of the day, news and meaningful speeches.

The highlight of the assembly was the vibrant blend of poems, skits, melodious songs and a lively dance performance, spreading the message: Read to grow, Speak to express and Act to protect our Earth. An informative PPT on English Language Day enriched students’ understanding while a pledge on World Earth Day inspired responsibility towards nature. A skit on Go Green and the introduction of words relevant to the assembly added value.

The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

Eco Creations – Turning Waste into Wonder

S. D. Jain Modern School Primary Wing organized an inspiring Best Out of Waste – A Skill-Based Event for Grades I to IV on Tuesday, 21st April 2026, celebrating the theme Trash to Treasure – Art with Pleasure!

The event highlighted the power of creativity as students transformed everyday waste into beautiful masterpieces by using materials like cardboard boxes, old newspapers, plastic bottles, jars and fabric scraps. Judgement was based on creativity, originality, innovative ideas, finishing and eco-friendliness. The activity beautifully conveyed the message that waste isn’t waste until we waste it.

From simple scraps to stunning art, students showcased boundless imagination and environmental awareness. The event truly nurtured both artists and eco-warriors.

A special assembly was conducted on 13th April 2026 at S.D. Jain Modern School Primary Wing to honour Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar with great respect and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with a warm welcome to Headmistress Ma’am, followed by a serene prayer and shlok that created a peaceful and positive ambience.

Students from different grades presented the thought of the day, word of the day with meanings, news updates, speeches, poems, quizzes and engaging skits, beautifully highlighting the values of equality, justice and respect. A lively dance and melodious song added energy and charm to the assembly. Additionally Outstanding Olympiad performers were felicitated with medals for their achievements.

Young Minds Shine at Chess Championships

S.D. Jain Modern School, Primary Wing, takes pride in the commendable achievements of its budding chess players. Tanush Dhandhania of Grade-4 secured 3rd place in the Under-11 Boys category at the 1st Rapid Chess Tournament organized by Surat Warriors Chess Championship, held on 5th April 2026 at Vesu, Surat.

Adding to the accolades, Aarna Jagnani of Grade-3 won 3rd Prize in the Under-9 Girls category at The Surat District Selection for the State Chess Championship 2026, held on the same day.
