                         ANNUAL FUNCTION-2012

        The 12th Annual Function of S D Jain Modern School was celebrated with great pomp and show on 9th of November 2012.The ‘Pandaal’ was digitally decked. The campus was vibrating with the august presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Dakshesh Thakar, Vice Chancellor, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat and other dignitaries and grand personalities along with parents and other guests. The sprawling campus was jam-packed with more than six thousand spectators from different corners of the city.

The Chief Guest was welcomed by the Chairman Shri Kailash Jain, the Education Advisor Shri K. Juneja and Principal Shri Lee and other officials. The Programme started with the evocation of Lord Ganesha. The thought provoking function was based on Indian values, ethics and ideals. Each and every one was inspired and elated by the variety show of the cultural evening programme. The programme rolled out, etching a deep impression on the intellectual gathering. However ‘Grand Finale’, emulating and honouring the physically challenged people left the audience rapt but stimulated. On the other hand, the marvelous programme sensitized and gained sympathy to the blind, deprived of the most valuable gift of nature. The focus was on the message that human values cannot be forced or imposed by stringent laws it needs awareness drive and understanding. The “Chair Dance” left an indelible impression on the use of modern science and technology. Whereas “Telagu Folk” fused the important values of society into a single thread through dance. The audience was wonderstruck by the professional-like performance by the talented young budding artists. The ceaseless hilarity and continuous applaud had never been experienced before.

Extending his sincere wish and blessings the Chief Guest encouraged the meritorious students by distributing school cash scholarship awards, amounting to lacs of rupees, in addition to gold medals trophies and certificates. Among all glitters Miss Richa Agrawal, Himansu Agrawal and Aishwarya Garg shone the brightest as they have notched 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in class XII, CBSE, Commerce stream in Gujarat and in the top excellent merit list in CBSE. The other feather in their cap is that they have been conferred with most covetous, Dhiru Bhai Ambani Award, besides the school cash award. The Chief Guest also asserted that everyone has “Pratima” but S D Jain has “Pratibha”. More than 350 students were awarded gold and silver medals besides trophies and certificates by the Chairman a week before the Annual function.

School shields and trophies were awarded in curricular and co- curricular areas. Chairman Shield was notched by Subhash House. Whereas Ashoka House bagged Late Shri Raghuveer Singh Jain Shield and Trophy for excellent performance in sports and games. Shivaji House bagged Late Shrimati Sharbati Devi shield and trophy was awarded for the best cultural activities. Subhash house bagged late Shri Devrajji Jain trophy for stupendous overall performance.  He congratulated the Education Advisor, Shri Juneja for producing excellent results in academics and extracurricular activities and appreciated the ‘most excellent’ cultural evening, the credit for which goes to Trustee Smt. Usha Jain, presented by students of the most exceptional school in Gujarat He wished that other schools should take in the inspiration from S D Jain School that inculcates balanced personality among students. 

The Chairman of the school Shri Kailash Jain motivated students and staff by asserting that the programme was indeed reflection of the ever changing society and the school is really amalgamation of the modern and advancing society that evolves from values and morality.

Principal Mr Lee and the prefectorial body described meticulously the school activities of the year in his Annual Report.

Trustee, Mr Rahul Jain profusely thanked the Chief Guest, dignitaries, parents, teachers, menial staff and those who have given their unstinted support to make the programme a grand success. 

After the programme, the mood of Diwali was set by sumptuous dinner to staff and their family along with elite of the city & they were also offered Diwali Gifts.
