ANNUAL FUNCTION-2011 –A REPORT
The 12th Annual Function of S D Jain Modern School was celebrated with great pomp and show on the 22nd of October 2011.The ‘Pandaal’ was digitally decked. The campus was vibrating with the august presence of the Chief Guest, the Commissioner of Police, Surat, Shri Rakesh Asthaana,I P S, and other dignitaries and grand personalities along with parents and other guests. The sprawling campus was jam-packed with more than six thousand spectators from different corners of the city.
The Chief Guest was warmly escorted to the tune of band up to the Pandaal by the Chairman, Paras Education Trust Shri Kailash Jain, the Director-cum-Education Advisor Shri K. Juneja and Principal Shri Lee and other officials. The chief Guest was welcomed by giving a round of applause and a standing ovation. The Programme started with the evocation of Lord Ganesha. The thought provoking function was based on Indian tradition and values, ethics and ideals all the way through dance and drama. Each and every one was inspired and elated by the variety show of the cultural evening programme. The programme rolled out, etching a deep impression on the intellectual gathering. However ‘Chinese Girls’ and ‘Egyptian Dance’ emulating and honouring the international culture left the audience rapt and stimulated by the deep rooted universal brotherhood. On the other hand traditional dance of western India, “Garba” sensitized the gathering and pervaded the religious fervour. Whereas the belief of impalpable but overflowing love of mother was once again strengthened through the English skit “The Mother” -a revival of Gorky’s immortal mother and Nargish’ Mother India. The focus was on the message that human values cannot be forced or imposed by stringent laws it needs awareness drive and understanding. The “Shadow Dance” left an indelible impression on the use of modern science and technology. Whereas “The Grand Finale” staged by students, right from class III to class XII, fused the important values of society into a single thread through dance. The audience was wonderstruck by the professional-like performance by the talented young budding artists. The ceaseless hilarity and continuous applaud had never been experienced before.
Extending his sincere wishes and blessings the Chief Guest encouraged the meritorious students by distributing scholarships amounting to lacs of rupees on trophies, gold, silver and bronze medals and certificates. More than 400 students were awarded gold, silver & certificates. He congratulated the Education Advisor, Shri Juneja for producing excellent results in academics and extracurricular activities and also appreciated the effort of the Trustee Smt Usha Jain for the ‘most excellent’ cultural evening. He wished that other schools should take inspiration from S D Jain Modern School that inculcates balanced personality among students.
The Chairman of the school Shri Kailash Jain motivated students and staff by asserting that the programme was indeed reflection of the ever changing society and the school is really amalgamation of the modern and advancing society that evolves from values and morality.
Principal Mr Lee described meticulously the school activities of the year in his Annual Report.
Trustee, Mr Rahul Jain profusely thanked the Chief Guest, dignitaries, parents, teachers, menial staff and those who have given their unstinted support to make the programme a grand success.
After the programme, the mood of Diwali was set by sumptuous dinner to staff and their family along with elite of the city.
