10th Annual Function

More than 5000 parents and elite of the town,from all corners of the city, thronged to S D Jain Modern School just as nails are attracted to a magnet on 9th. October 2009 where a pageant of cultural programme based on ‘Nav Ras’ the school’s successful and glorious completion of ten years. The colourful evening started with the lighting of the Lamp by the distinguished Chief Guest Shri Sarad Kumar Saraf, Chairman Federation of Indian Export Organisation, set up by Ministry of Commerce, Govt of India, Shri Kailash Jain, Chairman, Paras Education Trust, Presided over the function.

            Man’s life is the manifestation of different emotions with the passage of time and situation. Different emotions occur in human life. Keeping this in view student of S.D.Jain Modern School presented varieties of splendid programmes. The gala evening started with Ganesh Vandana representing Bhakti Ras.The meritorious and talented students who excelled not only in the field of academics but also curricular and co-curricular activities, keeping the school tradition aloft, were awarded certificates, shields and cash prizes above Rs. 3 lacs by the honourable Chief Guest. In addition to that  over 500 medals and certificates were given out 2 days prior to the Annual Day.

 12th Commerce topper of Surat 2009 Shristi  Banthia was awarded Rs.12000 and Kena Patel of XII science  was awarded Rs. 10,000/-  for their marvelous and stupendous performance. For centum in Maths Ashish Sachdeva and Mitali Jain were also awarded Rs.5000 each. Altogether 24 students of class XII were proud winners of scholarships.

 Sonal Bhutra and Kirti Rastogi were awarded with Rs.9600 for their outstanding performance in the 10th Board exam 2009. And 27 other students  scoring above 90% were also awarded Rs.7200 each.

Besides, every class topper was awarded Rs.6000 each for their stupendous performance in academics. In addition to that the emerging youngest poet Sakshi Chindaliya was highly appreciated and encouraged by the school Management and also by the Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat on the publication of her first collection of poems.. Many other prodigies in curricular and Co – curricular fields were also felicitated. In Skating 5 students have been selected to represent the state whereas 2 students have been selected to represent West Zone at the CBSE National Games. In Yoga and Athletics  4 and 5 students respectively have been selected to represent the district at the state level.

Shubhash House lifted both covetous trophies, the Late Shri DevrajJi Jain Trophy for excellence in academics and Shri Kailash Chandra Jain Trophy for Co-curricular performance. Ashoka House bagged the Late Shri Raghuvir Singh Jain Trophy for sports and games. Where as the most prestigious Late Shrimati Sharbati Devi Trophy- the Cock House Trophy was lifted by  Subhash House.

Appreciating the glorious achievement of S.D. Jain Modern School, honorable Chief Guest Shri S.K.Saraf spoke at length on the soul and role of education in contemporary scenario and stated the cultural programme he witnessed could be compared to the programmes of the best Public schools in the country.In his welcome speech to the Chief Guest ,Shri K.Juneja Director Cum Education Advisor insisted on the importance of modern education in the progressive world and assured to remain dedicated for providing quality and holistic education in times to come. The principal Mr. Lee apprised the distinguished guests and parents about the outstanding, eventful history and progressive development of the school and highlighted the integration of academic excellence and professional learning.

As all good things must come to an end, so did the colourful evening with the National Anthem, leaving the parents asking for more.
