S. D. Jain Modern School “a prestigious school of Surat that imparts quality education and lays emphasis on moral values, Indian culture and character formation” celebrated its Annual Function on 19th October 2003, with great zeal zest. The campus and the school building looked like a fairyland in its silvery charm.
Shri. G. R. Aloria IAS, Municipal Commissioner of Surat was the Chief Guest. Chairman of the Paras Education Trust Shri Devraj ji Jain presided over the function and addressed the gathering. Eminent educationist Shri K. Juneja gave the welcome address. Principal Mr. Maxwell presented the school Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of the students.
The chief guest gave away prizes to the students for their excellent performance in academics, sports and extra curricular activities. The vote of thanks was given by Trustee Mrs. Nidhi Jain. Mr. Aloria lauded Education Trust for the excellent work done by it in the field of education that should have been done by Government. He appreciated them for establishing an institution that was a rare blend of academics, sports and co-curricular activities. He wanted other schools to take it as a model school and emulate its example.
The chief guest was happy to know that two unique projects were to be launched very soon “an exclusive sports complex” with a swimming pool, basket ball court, tennis court, skating rink and the gymnasium; an artistically designed building with latest gadgets for Pre Primary children with a multipurpose auditorium would be erected. Mr. Aloria was delighted to know that S. D. Jain Modern School was recently bestowed with the “Vidya Ratan” award for excellence in every sphere of education and our Education Advisor Shri K. Juneja was conferred with the prestigious “Jewel of India” award for his commendable and outstanding services by International Institute of Education Management, Delhi .
The function was a kaleidoscopic presentation of the multifaceted talents of the students. The dazzling performance of the students in the items Mr. India , Village Theme, Arabian Dance, Puppet Dance, Tribal Dance, item on national integration and Skating Dance mesmerized the audience. The who’s who a gathering of over 2500 elite of the town witnessed this spectacular event. The cheers from the audience clearly showed the spell binding impression that the programme had on their mind. The total gathering was treated to a sumptuous meal.
