According to the guidelines of CBSE, a teachers training session was conducted by the CBSE Ajmer at the S.D.Jain Modern School premises on 8th July 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The training aimed to familiarize teachers with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and equip them with effective teaching strategies. Principal Chetan Dalwala and Heads of all the wings welcomed the resource persons Mrs. Michelle Ganeshani and Miss Hetal Gohel. The training session began with the customary lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. Mrs. Michelle Ganeshani initiated the session by quoting a famous proverb by John Dewey, “If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.” This proverb served as a powerful reminder of the need to adapt teaching methods to meet the evolving needs of students in the contemporary world. Throughout the training, Mrs. Michelle Ganeshani and Miss Hetal Gohel emphasized several key aspects of effective teaching: *Listening Skill: Teachers were encouraged to develop active listening skills to understand students’ needs, concerns, and learning styles. Effective communication and empathy were identified as essential components of creating a conducive learning environment.
*Emotional Connection with Students: The trainers emphasized the importance of building strong emotional connections with students. By understanding their emotions and providing a supportive and nurturing environment, teachers can enhance student engagement and foster a love for learning. *Memorizing with Understanding: The traditional rote memorization approach was discouraged, and teachers were encouraged to focus on helping students understand concepts deeply. By promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills, teachers can enable students to apply their knowledge effectively. *Becoming a Role Model: Teachers were reminded of their role as role models for their students. By demonstrating positive behaviour, ethical values, and professionalism, teachers can influence their students in a profound way. *Infusing Enthusiasm: Enthusiasm and passion for the subject matter were highlighted as vital traits for teachers. *Infusing Values: The trainers stressed the importance of imparting values to students. Teachers play a crucial role in instilling moral and ethical values in students, shaping their character, and preparing them to be responsible and compassionate citizens. The training session concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing teachers to clarify their doubts and seek additional guidance. The training session conducted by CBSE Ajmer provided valuable insights into the NEP 2020 and offered practical strategies for effective teaching. By emphasizing the importance of listening skills, emotional connections, understanding, role modeling, enthusiasm, and values, the resource persons inspired teachers to become transformative educators who can shape the future of their students. It was an insightful training session organized by the school management to update professional competency of teacher. Furthermore, We want to express our sincere appreciation to Principal Sir, for his unwavering support and encouragement.
This commitment towards excellence will reflect positively on the school vision and dedication to the holistic development of both students and teachers. The school ensured that the participants were well taken care of tea and lunch throughout the training session. Tea breaks were provided in the morning and afternoon, allowing teachers to refresh and rejuvenate. A nutritious and delicious lunch was also arranged, providing an opportunity for the participants to network and engage in informal discussions. In addition to the training sessions, three activities were conducted by the trainers to promote active learning and collaboration among the teachers. These activities encouraged participants to apply the concepts learned during the training and engage in hands-on exercises. The activities were well-received and provided an interactive and engaging experience for all the teachers. Overall, the arrangements made for refreshments and the inclusion of activities added value to the training session creating a conducive environment for professional development.
