Jain Modern School, the first of its kind in Surat city, is an English Medium co-educational school run on public school lines managed by Paras Education Trust, Surat, registered under the Society Registration Act. XXIX 1950, No. ER/4057/SURAT and CBSE affiliation No. 430048. The school caters to the mental, physical. emotional and moral growth of the child through varied programmes, designed academically and keeping in mind the curricular and co-curricular activities towards the overall development.

School Rules
  1. It is mandatory for students to bring school diary everyday and use it productively. Children should carry the books according to the timetable only. Complete your assignment and project on time.
  2. Students who commute by their own transport should reach the school five minutes before the bell rings i.e. by 7:25 am.
  3. Students are not allowed to visit the swimming pool area without the instructor or mentor.
  4. School uniform is a standard set of clothes prescribed by the school which is to be worn by the students at all times while they are in the school campus and they must respect it. Student shall be allowed to enter the school campus only in proper school uniform. Without proper school uniform the student shall not be allowed to enter the school premises.
  5. Being an English medium school, students are required to speak only in English in the school premises.
  6. Non sikh boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals.
  7. Students are advised to make use of the dust-bins provided, for throwing litters etc. They are expected to keep the campus neat and clean.
  8. No shouting or whistling is allowed in or around the school building. Running in corridor is strictly prohibited.
  9. In case of serious wilful damage caused to the property of the school by a student, the parent/guardian of the student would be liable for costs for damage to the school property. In such incidents the management decision will be final and binding.
  10. Safety of our students is our prime concern. The school authority, staff, coaches/escorts do take extreme care for security & wellbeing of students during school/ functions/tours/sports/transportation etc. In case of any untoward unavoidable incident beyond the limitations of staff/escorts/school authorities, the staff/escorts/school authorities shall not be hold responsible.
  11. Students are advised not to bring valuable articles to the school. Any loss of article or money should be reported to the class or the subject teacher immediately. The school shall not be responsible for these losses.
  12.  Parents or guardians are not permitted to visit the class rooms or meet their wards or take away their wards during school hours without the written permission of the Headmistress. Leave note should be submitted in case of absence.
  13. A school is judged by the conduct of its students hence the students are always expected to set standards of good conduct, politeness and follow the queue system for any outdoor or indoor activity in the school, in the bus and at public place. They should always behave in a courteous manner and prove themselves as worthy ambassadors of the institution as well as of their country.
  14. If a student t remains absent for 7 days without any intimation, the student's name will be automatically struck off from the school rolls without any notice, in such incident parent have to apply for fresh admission.
  15. Books which are questionable including novels, friendship cards, mobiles & watches, should not be brought to the school.
  16. Students should reach their stipulated bus stop 5 minutes early and wait for the bus. The bus will not wait under any circumstances if the child arrives late at the concerned stop, as it will cause a lot of inconvenience in maintaining punctuality.
  17. Any changes in monthly schedule will be intimated to the students well in advance.

Admission fee is not refundable in any case. Regarding issue of TC, Parents must note that quarterly fee and the bus fee will be charged, In case of withdrawal of a child during the academic year.

Refund

Caution money, if any, will be refunded at the time of withdrawal from the school on the production of receipt along with an application on the prescribed proforma, provided the dues of the school have been paid or settled. Refund of caution money will have to be claimed within a year of the date of withdrawal of the child from the school.

LEAVE AND ATTENDANCE
  1. Every student is expected to maintain an attendance record of at least 90% during an academic year. Failing this, he / she may not be allowed to take the final exams.
  2. For any absence, a proper leave application must be written by the parent to the Principal, supported by a medical certificate in case of sick leave.
  3. In the school, if a student misses any class or leaves the school before closing without permission, he/she will be marked absent for the whole day. Stern action wilt be taken against such truants.
  4. A student’s name will be struck off from the rolls if the student is absent from the school for 7 days continuously without taking valid leave.
GENERAL GUIDELINES TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Parents/Guardians are requested to co-operate with the school authorities:

  1. Parents are requested to ensure that your ward attends school every day in perfect uniform and is regular in daily lessons. Parents should also assist their wards to organize the books and notebooks according to the time table.
  2. Parents have to check their ward's school diary and report card regularly and also pay attention to the teacher's remarks. All correspondence should be addressed to the Principal by the Parents/ Guardians.
  3. Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience, misconduct or bad moral influence may cause the expulsion of the student from the school.
  4. Whenever the parents come to school to drop their ward or to meet the teachers, they are requested to be courteous with the teachers. Please inspire your ward to give due respect to their teachers and elders.
  5. Parents are requested to carry the parent's ID Card while visiting the school or any function organized by the school. They may be denied 1 entry for want of the same.
  6. Boys are not allowed to wear earrings. Girls are allowed to wear only one small pair of studs in the ear lobes and also they are not allowed to come to school with nail polish, mehandi, tattoos and hair dyes under any circumstances.
  7. Parents are requested to inform the school office about any change of residential address and phone number.
  8. Parent are not allowed to enter the school bus and scold the drivers, conductors and staff members by using unpalatable and impolite words under any circumstances. In case of grievances, parents are expected to meet the school authorities
  9. Parents are prohibited from going to the bus parking to pick up their ward. In case of necessity, the school office has to be intimated and gate pass needs to be issued.
  10. Parents are requested not to send unknown persons to the school to pick up their ward from the school.
  11. Parents must refrain from sending students affected by contagious diseases even during examinations, as it can affect other students. If the student has recently suffered from such illness then send him/her to school if subsequent to the doctor's confirmation.
Computer Education
The school already has three very well equipped computer laboratories with latest Pentium based machines, which will be used for the Junior Section as well as Senior section. The CAL (Computer Aided Learning) and CLP(Computer Literacy Programme) are an integral part of teaching learning curriculum. The CAL packages evolved by teachers have been validated by a team of experts. Further Computer is used as a teaching aid to learn different subjects like Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, English, Games and different activities, especially pertaining to develop their practical approach towards the rationalization which aids their receptiveness towards all the subject. ART, SCIENCE LABS & A. V. ROOM The school has well equipped Art Gallery where students can exercise creativity in various kinds of arts. For senior secondary the school has three senior science labs (Phy., Chem. and Bio.) of standard size with all modern gadgets. The school has the most well equipped air conditioned A. V Room with latest LCD projector which can accommodate four Sections together of one class during a given time.

Use Of Transport
1. It is desirable for all students to make use of the school bus. However if a student is unable to make use of bus facility because of certain unavoidable reasons. the student must inform in writing to the concerned school authority. 2. All regular students once opted for the bus facility have to pay the fees for the full year and would not be permitted to withdrawn the bus facility in between the session.

Smart Digital Class is the complete teaching technology which makes learning easy and intellectual. This program is the combination of hardware & software. Digital class makes teaching more interesting as well as innovative. It makes learning fast, full of fun, hopeful, visualized & inspirational. The classrooms turn into lively learning platforms for students. The teachers can choose from a mix of teaching tools such as the whiteboard coupled with graphics, sound, animations and videos. "Smart Classes", provide education better through presentations and videos. A student can learn better through visualization, this can be seen in case of movies. i.e. students remember movies better by visualizing than hearing them. This type of teaching creates an interest in them, hence e-leaning is absolutely better.
Parents Teachers Meeting
We believe that parents are the first teachers and the teachers are the second parents. Parents and Teachers should meet on the open house days scheduled for one to one discussion/class observation / consultation on measures to improve the performance of students.
Guidance For Self Study
GUIDANCE FOR SELF STUDY 1. Parents are expected to ensure that their children revise, review and recollect whatever subjects taught in the class the same during their self- study at home regularly. 2. It is always better to discuss with the child and prepare a time-table for study/ play/watch useful TV programmes etc. 3. Parents should monitor their child during their study hours at home and encourage him/her to follow the time table and develop a system. 4. Students are expected to do their practice sheets on their own. Parents can guide them to complete their practice sheets/project work. 5. Parents of all classes should encourage their child to have self-study at home instead of sending them to various tuition classes. 6. Parents are requested to motivate their child to inculcate the habit of writing while studying. 7. Parents are requested to encourage their child to read story books/newspaper/novels, it would help the child to develop language skills along with good knowledge 8. Parents are expected to ensure that their child read the text books at home prior to the teacher teaches the lesson in the class. Learning can be enhanced and enriched through these practices of reading.

      Please note the following points

      1. Stoppages of the other area can be introduced, provided the number of bus users is sufficient.
      2. Once the bus service is availed by the students, cannot be withdrawn the service during the academic year.
      3. Please note that the students who don’t avail the bus facility, they must mention their own conveyance (Auto, Self etc) with their details and return the confirmation form back to the class teacher. The school is not responsible for any unforeseen incidents occurring in the other conveyance like auto, self (own vehicle) or even in the bus.
      4. Parents are requested to inform the school if any change in residence address and contact number so that school can update at the regular intervals.
      5. For the major purpose of security and safety of your ward, the school has designed the 2nd copy of your ward’s I card (FOR PARENTS COPY). So that any time parents want to see the principal, concerned teachers, any kind of office work at the administration office or at bus stoppage, they must keep the parents I-card copy and show it on demand.
      6. Students won’t be handed over if their parents or any member of the family don’t come at the bus stoppage with their Parents I.D. Card. In this case, parents will have to come to the school and pick their ward.
      7. Parents are requested not to send their children by motor cycle (bike) as it is strictly warned by the local authorities. The local administration has given warning to all the school heads not to permit any child to drive two wheelers without license.
      8. The school is not responsible for any action taken by the traffic police or any theft occurring inside or outside the campus.
      9. No students’ upto Class X are permitted to drive vehicles to the school under any circumstances.
      10. Students of Class XI and Class XII should always keep their driving License with them and produce it on demand by the school authorities and submit the copy of the license at the office as well. (Only gearless vehicle)
      11. The possession and use of mobile phones is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. If students are caught with mobiles, the instruments in their possession will be confiscated and will not be returned under any circumstances.
      12. The School reserves the right to Alter, Add, Or Delete Any Bus Stop.
      13. Parents can always E-Mail us for any queries and suggestions which will be welcomed.
