‘KHUSHI’ FOR OUR FUTURE :
Appointed as the Regional Ambassador for India by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Khushi Chindaliya is an 18-year-old high school graduate of S.D. Jain Modern School from Surat, Gujarat. Khushi has always been passionate about the environment. As a little child, she had befriended a chikoo tree near her house which was also the resting place of many birds. In fact, the whole area was green. But as she grew up, she kept seeing how concrete jungle crept in and replaced greenery all around. She was worried that her younger cousins will never get to see what she had enjoyed. Her passion for the environment drove her toco-organize the first TEDx Youth event in Surat where the participants talked about interesting ideas like 'Change what you wear to face climate change.' It inspired her to formulate a report that elaborates on charging carbon interest, funding carbon labs and establishing carbon exchanges.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Tunza Eco-generation appoints regional ambassadors from all over the world every six months. In August 2020, she received the opportunity and responsibility to be appointed as the Regional Ambassador for India by UNEP Tunza Eco-generation.
